The Solution to a Sticky Scrapbooking Problem - Glue Dots
by Blake Provo

Description: Glue dots are great for fastening embellishments to your cards and scrapbook pages.

One of the most frustrating things relating to scrapbooking is how to fasten those great 3D adornments to your page. You have worked and worked to create an awesome shaker box or tag, only to find that none of your adhesives will stick to your creation. This predicament is where a convenient little invention comes into play: Glue dots!

"Glue Dots" is a trademarked name for little circles of adhesive that come in rolls. To use these, you simply press the dot onto your embellishment and then stick it to your page. These little circles come in many different sizes, so there is sure to be one that's perfect for your project, however large or small that project is.

Have you wanted to work with ribbon or buttons? These items are beautiful and make some of the most elegant pages in scrapbooking, but they're innately flawed. No matter what type of adhesive you use, the tiny globs of glue will show through! That won't happen with glue dots. Glue dots will stick to anything and they do not show through like traditional adhesives. They absolutely do not ooze beyond the edges of your materials like liquid glues do.

Glue dots works like a sticker. You fasten them to the back of your embellishments and the adhesive is pressure activated. Pressure activated means that if you put a force on the backing the adhesive will stick, after that you remove the backing to expose the other side of the adhesive. This is the side you place on your page. The dots are very skinny, so they do not make a raised edge behind your ribbon or other decoration. There is also a thicker version you can apply to create 3d creations.

Have you ever thought about how you could stick those small rhinestones or sequins onto your page? This adhesive comes in a mini size, the mini size is only 3/16 of an inch in diameter. This size was created with mini decorations in mind. They are very sticky, which means that even these tiny items will be stuck permanently where you want them.

Lastly, these adhesive wonders come in a entirely transparent version, which solves the dilemma you face when you wish to use vellum on your pages. Now, vellum does not show spots of adhesive through its opaque material, marring your design. You can use this new and improved adhesive for every project. Make sure you have a variety of styles and sizes with you to be positive that you are prepared!
