Creative Uses for Old Sheet Music

Do you have old sheet music laying around that you don't know what to do with? I have a box of sheet music in my storage shed that I know I need to go through, and I have been brainstorming ways of putting some of it to use in creative craft projects before I give the rest away.
I am not a musician by any stretch of the imagination, but I took piano lessons for many years when I was a child, and I still have fond memories of some of the music I spent many hours practicing. Those are the memories I'm trying to capture.
Frame It. Framing old sheet music is a great to display and enjoy it. You could frame individual pages or create a collage of favorite pieces. If you have other mementos you want to frame, such as photos, certificates, awards, etc., you could use a large shadow box to display the items together. You can find a variety of shadow boxes at most craft stores.
Scrapbook It. Pages of sheet music would make great backgrounds for photos in scrapbooks. Keep in mind, however, that these pages are not acid free, so you may want to photocopy the original pages onto acid-free paper so that they will not harm the photos in your scrapbook.
Decoupage It. You could cut up or tear pieces of sheet music to decoupage any item that decoupage can be applied to. Decoupage works great on any wood surface, like cabinets or dressers. One idea I had was to create a storage box to store my daughter's keepsake Christmas ornaments in. I am going to decoupage pages from my favorite Christmas carol sheet music along with recycled Christmas cards onto a small wood box. This will make a wonderful family keepsake!
Hopefully these ideas will spark your imagination and get you thinking of ways you can use your old sheet music so that it isn't just stored away in a closet somewhere. Get it out and display it so that you can enjoy it everyday!
